Farmers Markets Return
Local farmers markets are back, providing fresh produce and unique goods. The Southlands Farmers’ Market in Aurora operates on Saturdays from May to September, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., blending fresh produce with a festive street market atmosphere suitable for families.
Arts and Music
Bohemian Rhapsody Concert
The Aurora Symphony Orchestra presents “Bohemian Rhapsody: 2026 Arts for a Better Tomorrow Concert” on May 16 at 7:30 p.m. and May 17 at 4:00 p.m. at Gateway High School Auditorium. Experience musical celebrations of individuality and personal power, including Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” performed by a full symphony orchestra.
Chamber Works Concert
On May 31, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the Aurora Symphony Orchestra’s annual Chamber Works concert returns at Parkview Congregational Church. This intimate concert features small ensembles of duets, trios, quartets, and more, hosted by conductor Jeremy D. Cuebas.
Community Events
Aurora Fire and Safety Field Day
On May 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Aurora Fire and Safety Field Day will be held at the City of Aurora Public Safety Training Center. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Aurora and Smoky Hill Rotary Club, along with Aurora Fire Rescue and Aurora Police Department, this event offers safety demonstrations and activities for all ages.
Walk ‘N’ Roll
Celebrate Older Aurorans Month by participating in the Walk ‘N’ Roll event on May 15, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Del Mar Park. Enjoy a walk or roll around the park, with breakfast, music, and goodie bags provided.
